Marc grew up in Glasgow and from a young age showed a keen interest in many sports - mainly swimming and running. He competed in aquathons and the natural progression from there was on to triathlons. When he left school at 17 his triathlon career was well established and he opted for a course at Stirling University, where he could combine studying and training with the national squad.
Marc is now an elite Under-23 International British and Scottish Triathlete. Some notable recent achievements: 2nd - U23 World Triathlon Championships Edmonton Canada 2014, Triathlon Scotland Athlete of the Year 2014, Sunday Mail Young Sports Personality of the Year 2013 and British Triathlon Male Elite Junior Triathlete of the Year award 2013.
Marc also represented Scotland at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, where he was part of a three-man breakaway with the Brownlee brothers. He performed exceptionally well in front of the home crowd in Strathclyde Park.
